The more I thought about making a list of my top 101 things to do in life, the more I felt it wasn’t something I really wanted to do. My work is so structured and non-stop busy, that when it’s Heather Time, I don’t want rules and regulations. I don’t want a blueprint to direct me, I just want to drift.
Do I have goals, dreams and aspirations? Sure. Certain things I hope to do, see, experience in life? Absolutely. I just don’t want to quantify them on a list. My life is blissful and I’m completely blessed to live each day to its fullest. That’s the only checkbox I need to put an “x” in everyday!

Thanks to my high school friend, Kristi Cain (http://www.jamiecain.com/kristi/), I’m giving some thought to creating a giant To-Do list. I’m not sure I can commit to a full 1001 things to do, but surely it couldn’t hurt to capture some goals and dreams in one centralized location.
It’s funny that I would drag my feet on this because in the workplace, I am known for my to-do lists. Every day starts with actual check-boxes drawn next to the tasks awaiting completion. The days when I check off all the tasks are blissful…most days, I carry some of the boxes over to the next day, then the day after that, then the next week!
So it will be interesting to see how that plays into my personal list. I’ll start listing just as soon as I
- finish drinking my coffee
- start a load of laundry
- wash the breakfast dishes
- get out of my pajamas
- play with the dogs outside
Really….I’m not a procrastinator!
